Preventive maintenance

Preventive Maintenance Compliance Calculator

Measure whether PM work due in the period was completed within the agreed due-date window.

PM due record

Use only PM work orders and retain the same grace-window rule in each reporting period.

What this calculator does

PM compliance = PM work orders completed within the allowed window ÷ PM work orders due × 100. It protects the due-date integrity of the PM program.

Inputs and formula

Use matching work-order and labor records for one stated reporting period; the formula and boundary are defined on this page.

When to use it

Use it for preventive work only. Schedule compliance instead evaluates all work orders committed to a schedule, including planned corrective work.

Worked example and interpretation

108 of 120 PMs completed by their due date or documented grace window gives 90%. Investigate late PMs by asset criticality and failure consequence.

Practical notes and limitations

Do not silently extend due dates or remove PMs after they become due. A high result cannot prove that PM task content, intervals, or completion quality are effective.
